Why I do skincare even when nothing is wrong! - Vedant Chanakya

Sometimes people ask me why I still follow my skincare routine in winter.
“It’s cold, there’s hardly any sun,” they say. “Why bother?”
And honestly, I used to think the same.

But winter in India is sneaky. Your skin feels fine one day, and suddenly it’s dry, itchy, or patchy the next. And the sun? Just because it feels softer doesn’t mean it actually is. My teacher told us that winter sun has sharp UV rays too—you just don’t feel the heat, so you forget the damage.

That’s why I take care of my skin during winter even when nothing’s wrong.

Here’s what I do:

Every evening, I wash my body with Tuco Kids’ gentle cleanser. In winter, dust and pollution make my skin feel dull, so this helps keep it fresh without drying it out.

Then I use Tuco’s Face Cream. Winter makes everyone’s skin a little thirsty, so this keeps mine soft and calm. No dry patches, no flaky cheeks.

And the most important step—yes, even in winter—is sunscreen.
Tuco’s SPF 30 has become my “don’t skip this” rule. The winter sun feels cool, but the UV rays are still strong. They bounce off buildings, cars, even the ground, and reach your skin anyway. I didn’t know that before, but now I never forget.

I like that Tuco uses ingredients my family already trusts—neem, aloe vera, turmeric—and avoids harsh stuff like parabens and sulfates. Winter can be tough on skin, so it feels good to use things that are gentle.

My routine is simple. Three steps. Five minutes. And because I follow it even when my skin looks perfectly okay, it stays that way—through school days, cold mornings, and winter evenings.

So if you think skincare in winter isn’t necessary, or sunscreen is only for summer, think again. Taking care of your skin before there’s a problem is the easiest way to avoid one.

And trust me—your future self (with soft, happy skin) will definitely thank you.
